Cat and Dog Boarding
When preparing to travel for business or taking your family on vacation there is a lot to do and enough stress without having to worry about who is going to take care of your beloved animal companion. Rather than impose on a neighbor or rely on a pet sitter with little animal care training, Island Trees Veterinary Hospital in Hicksville, New York, can provide pet owners on Long Island with a safe, comfortable and fun place for their dog or cat to stay.
We offer our clients two temperature controlled rooms with cages in a variety of sizes to accommodate our large and small guests. For those dogs that need even a little more room, we have 12 large runs, which are also available to smaller dogs that like to have a bit more room to relax in. Our highly trained kennel staff is stationed with our guests at all times and our medical staff checks in with the pets periodically throughout the day. We also like to provide plenty of exercise to our canine friends by making sure they are walked many times throughout the day.
Grooming for Cats and Dogs
Grooming is not simply a pet luxury, but an important piece of your pet’s preventative health care plan. For example, regular baths and nail trims helps remove harmful germs from the fur and paws that are picked up as your dog plays outside. They also offer a great opportunity for the groomer to notice dried or cracked paw pads or skin issues.
