Veterinary X-Rays for Dogs and Cats

Radiographs, also known as X-rays, are helpful at diagnosing a number of medical conditions affecting your pet’s lungs, heart, abdomen, oral cavity, bladder, kidneys and other areas. For example, a radiograph can detect tumors, heartworm disease, bladder and kidney stones, and foreign objects.
X-rays are also very important for helping diagnose and treat injuries such as broken bones, joint injuries and other orthopedic conditions.
Because Island Trees Veterinary Hospital believes that all animals deserve the best care possible, we offer our clients full-body radiographic services, which includes the chest, abdomen, bladder, hips, and all extremities. If necessary, we are able to send our radiographic studies out for interpretation by a specialist.

Ultrasound for Companion Animals

Ultrasound is an invaluable diagnostic tool because it allows your veterinarian to visualize your pet’s internal organs, without surgery.
In particular, ultrasound is helpful in making treatment decisions for various types of heart disease, assess the function and health of internal organs, and identify lesions, determine their origin, and if they have spread to other areas of the body.
Island Trees Veterinary Hospital provides ultrasound services at our facility by appointment only by a board certified ultrasonographer. This means that your pet receives the best possible care within a familiar and comfortable environment.

Veterinary Endoscopy and Rhinoscopy

Veterinary endoscopy aids in the diagnosis and treatment of problems occurring in the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts. An endoscope is a small camera attached to a semi-rigid tube and is used to visualize parts of the stomach and small and large intestines.
Island Trees Veterinary Hospital provides endoscopic services at our hospital by a board certified specialist.
Veterinary rhinoscopy aids in identifying and diagnosing medical issues in the nasal passages and upper airways. In much the same way as an endoscope, a rhinoscope allows your veterinarian to examine the nasal passages and airway to remove an inhaled foreign object, diagnose fungal infections, biopsy possible masses.
In order to offer this service to our clients, Island Trees Veterinary Hospital works with a board certified specialist to perform these procedures at our facility.
